C-MAIL: Enterprise scalable and secure email productivity technology
C-MAIL is a truly innovative, individual and enterprise e-mail productivity solution.
Figure 1 below explains the system architecture around C-MAIL and how it works in conjunction with existing e-mail software and network technologies. As an example, MS Exchange and MS Outlook (both manufactured by Microsoft Corp., Redmond, WA) are shown as an e-mail server and e-mail client software in an enterprise environment:
Figure 1: C-MAIL System Architecture
(Note: The steps listed below correspond to Figure 1 above.)
Step # 1:
The message arrives at the e-mail client via the messaging server.
Step # 2:
The C-MAIL client add-in software service analyzes the message and
Step # 3:
sends the information to the C-MAIL prioritization engine residing on the user's desktop and the enterprise server(s).
Step # 4:
The C-MAIL prioritization engine then calculates the priority score, assigns a relevant prioritization category (in the case of MS Outlook, a relevant Category Color code and/or To-Do Flag), and sends that information back to the e-mail client (MS Outlook). The C-MAIL prioritization engine calculates scores using several dynamic and adaptive, fuzzy logic filters (multiple patents pending). These filters analyze inherent information in your e-mail as well as situational factors associated with an e-mail, and compare this to your e-mail behavior. The whole e-mail prioritization process occurs within few seconds.
Step # 5:
The e-mail client synchronizes the score, category and/or the flag with the messaging server (MS Exchange Server).
Step # 6:
MS Exchange Server synchronizes the prioritized e-mail information with the Web E-mail Servers (for instance with MS Outlook Web Access Server) and Wireless E-mail Servers (for instance with Blackberry Server manufactured by RIM). Therefore, if a user accesses e-mail from any other desktop within the corporate firewall, or via a browser or VPN from outside the corporate firewall, he / she will still have a prioritized view of e-mail.
